First Pike on the Fly!

A few weeks ago, I took a rainy weekend and targeted pike in some water I've never fished, but had heard held good numbers of the toothy critter.  It was slow going, and the rain was coming down faster, but just before I decided to turn back, I was rewarded by my first pike on a fly, as well as the first fish on my new Redington Predator

Be very very careful! Fly fishing for pike can cause all sorts of trouble for you. It will lead you down a path where you will begin to tie nothing but big flies on big hooks, stay out past dark fishing surface flies even when you promised your significant other you would be home to watch Grey's Anatomy season 2 on DVD with her, and eat raw meat. I would wait at least 6 months before you even attempt another foray for pike. Trust me, I know.
